Personality of Character: Usually very happy and boisterous, since Tonks has become a spy, she's become much more sedate, much more withdrawn. When she was quick to laugh before, now it's only saved for rare occasions behind closed doors. More and more, the Dark Magic that Voldemort's supporters use and that she's expected to use as well, wears on her.

Character's History: The daughter of Andromeda Black and Ted Tonks, Nymphadora was raised without the usual Black ideas on pureblood supremacy or indeed, without knowing many of her aunts or cousins.

In 1984, Nymphadora entered Hogwarts with Charlie Weasley, and was sorted into Gryffindor. Though quite good in all her classes, Tonks was never made into a prefect because of her inability to stay out of trouble.

Upon graduation, she entered training to become an Auror -- excelling in Concealment an Disguise -- but she had a bit of trouble with Stealth and Tracking, as she's rather clumsy.

In the summer of 1994, she finally qualified to become an Auror and joined the Order of the Phoenix. She was with other members of the Order when they went to retrieve Harry from the Dursley's in August 1995 and she also took part in the Battle at the Department of Mysteries, where she was injured, at the end of Harry's fifth year.

The following year, Tonks was stationed at Hogwarts along with several other members. It was during this time that she confessed her growing attraction to Remus Lupin, though at first, he rejected her, at the end of the year they were finally seen together.

However, they did not remain together for long and split up before they'd had a year together (though they have remained friends). With the loss of Severus Snape as a spy for the Order, it came to her to eventually volunteer for that spot. She wasn't good at stealth, but she could do this, and finally managed to.

In December of 1997, she took the Dark Mark. There was no other way to get close without having it and as much as she hates it and all it stands for, she did it. She remained a spy for the Order until the war was lost and Harry Potter killed. As much as it hurt her after that, she knew she was in a place where she could help someone, maybe even two when the previous members were auctioned off.

When the Contention came into being, she joined up readily, and began work once more as a spy.
